Horton Plains sits at 2,100 metres and ends abruptly at World’s End, a sheer escarpment with views over the plains hundreds of metres below on a clear morning. The full circuit trail also passes Baker’s Falls and montane cloud forest home to sambar deer and endemic highland birds. The early departure, ideally by 6am, is genuinely non-negotiable, since cloud typically closes the view by mid-morning.
